In the Community

More than 800 Edmontonians representing 75 companies and organizations took part in spring and summer 2008 small-group discussions about homelessness. Highlights include 62 interviews with the homeless community, 20 meetings with elected and senior officials, 30 facilitated meetings with other groups. • The Housing First concept is a good idea and must be part of the solution.
• The wrap-around service to newly housed clients is the key to success.
• Prevention strategies are critical.
